The experience didn't even seem to faze him. Sheppard was up and about within a day, and though he allowed stubble to grow for a while, after a week he appeared for duty perfectly clean-shaven. As though there had never been a life-sucking alien insect clamped to his neck.
For days Rodney imagined pushing him back against the wall, kissing him long and slow, and letting his thumb stroke the place where the creature had been. Maybe Sheppard would shudder under his hands. Maybe he would always be a little bit sensitive, even if there were no scar.
