At some point in the past year, almost  all  of  the semicolons on the site have been eaten by my HTML editor. The only way to replace them is to go find where they're missing.   • When the Pentagon lost  patience with Alec Colson's attempt to expose the truth about alien involvement in Earth's affairs, they told Jack to handle it. He did  so by calling in a marker from Thor, who first beamed out the Asgard clone body from Colson Industries' lab, then presented himself as a product of military development of hologram technology during a newscast, casting strong doubt over Colson's earlier presentation of the clone. (Covenant)
  • He got called to the White House with Thor to meet with President Hayes. Before they left, he suggested a present that Thor could give the president -- a hyperdrive for the Prometheus. (Presumably he means an Asgard hyperdrive, capable of traveling across the galaxy in minutes, since the Prometheus already has Goa'uld-equivalent hyperdrive.) Thor nixed the idea, saying he'd need to discuss it with the Asgard High Council. (Covenant)
  • He had to dress up for the meeting, but didn't seem to be bothered by it -- possibly because he was so pleased at being able to beam over to the meeting five minutes ahead of time. (Covenant)
  • As part of the meeting, he brought up Sam's idea of telling Colson the truth, on the theory that they had nothing to lose at this point, and if it worked, he'd not only keep the SGC's secret, but would be a valuable ally with huge resources. (Covenant)
  • He agreed to let the women and children of the Hak'tyl take refuge at the SGC when Moloc discovered their location. He wasn't entirely prepared for the livestock that came with them. (Sacrifices)
  • Apparently, his Thor-wheedling worked -- the Asgard installed not only a hyperdrive but also beam technology on the Prometheus. (Endgame)
  • After the stargate was stolen right out of the SGC (by what was at the time an unknown thief), Jack had to call the president and tell him. (Endgame)
  • He reluctantly okayed Daniel's idea to use the repaired remote control for Osiris's transporter technology to beam aboard the al kesh and shut down the cloak, then take out the hyperdrive so the Prometheus could capture the Trust agents aboard without needing to fire. (Endgame)
  • Colonel Pendergast contacted Jack shortly thereafter to tell him that Daniel had successfully lowered the cloaking device but had failed to disable the hyperdrive or contact them, and asked Jack for permission to fire immediately while he had the chance (rather than risk the Trust operatives noticing the Prometheus and engaging their hyperdrive to flee, because the Prometheus was currently unable to follow due to an in-progress engine refit).   • Jack made the call to give Daniel more time, trusting that he'd be able to do it and get clear before the Trust agents fled. When Pendergast reported that the hyperdrive engines were starting to come on line, but couldn't guarantee that he could disable the ship without destroying it, Jack again had him hold off. (Endgame)
  • SG-1 (all three -- Teal'c had joined Sam and Daniel on the ship) made it back to Earth safely with the stargate, having triggered a locator beacon in time for the Prometheus to get them and the gate off the al kesh in time, but the two surviving Trust agents escaped cleanly with a supply of symbiote poison sufficient to wipe out half a dozen Goa'uld worlds, and rockets to disperse it.   • Knows that " he hanged himself" is the correct way to say it, rather than " he hung himself" .

  • Plays ping-pong. No idea what his general skill level is, but he was losing pretty impressively to Teal'c (and getting whacked hard with the ball in the process).   The closest he came to getting a point was waiting until Teal'c had left the table, and lobbing the ball across. (Sacrifices)

• She never lied at all, even when discrediting Colson -- she deflected the direct questions about the merit of his claim by distracting Julia Donovan and the audience with a hologram of Thor, implying -- but never saying -- that what Colson had had was holographic, too. (Covenant)

• The hologram actually was Thor, from his ship, pretending to be a programmed bit of technology developed by the military. The signal was close enough that his image never flickered until Sam ran a hand through him to prove he wasn't really there -- Julia was  honestly  taken  aback/impressed with how real he seemed, which has to have helped sell it to the audience. • When it looked like the military was going to have to continue discrediting him -- because he wouldn't give up -- Sam suggested telling him the truth, in hopes that would convince him. She agreed that his assessment as " security risk" was clearly accurate, but felt they had nothing to lose at that point. She sweetened the idea by pointing out what an asset it would be, having someone with Colson's resources actively on their side. (Covenant)

• She's definitely qualified to fly first seat in an F-302 -- she took Alec Colson up in one when she brought him to the alpha site. (Covenant)

• When Rya'c fell in love with one of the women of the Hak'tyl (Kar'yn) and decided to marry her within a few days, Teal'c was less than pleased. Rya'c hadn't consulted him first, and wouldn't listen when Teal'c told him he was too young to be taking such a major step so quickly. He truly believed that Rya'c (roughly 19 years old at the time, give or take a couple of years) was too young to understand what love is, and was frustrated that he couldn't make Rya'c understand that he could be ruining his life with this choice. He was also worried that Rya'c would soon have to choose between his family and his commitment to destroying the Goa'uld, and didn't want him to have to face such a burden at his age. (Sacrifices)
• When the wedding rehearsal went badly (with Kar'yn slapping her circlet of fidelity into Rya'c's chest and stalking off in anger), Teal'c, watching from the control room, was quietly pleased. (Sacrifices)

• She and Teal'c were more and more at loggerheads over their different goals. Ishta believed that the larger Jaffa rebellion was useless -- that the leaders of it simply sat around and plotted, without ever taking any action. Teal'c believed that destroying Moloc alone was effectively a waste of time, because another Goa'uld would simply take over his territories. He wanted Ishta to look long-term, while she was focused on the immediate problem of the ongoing murder of female Jaffa infants in Moloc's realm. This strained their relationship pretty severely, at least until Moloc was killed. (Sacrifices)

• 2004: Roughly five months after Anubis's attack over Antarctica, the program nearly gets  exposed when Alec Colson goes  public with proof that aliens are  involved in Earth's affairs -- he has an Asgard clone. Jack has  to call in a marker from Thor to discredit him -- Thor beams out the clone so Colson has no further access to it, and presents himself on television as a simple hologram being developed by the US military. (Covenant)
• 2004: The stargate is beamed out of the SGC and onto a Trust-operated scout ship (specifically, at 03:07, on the graveyard shift). The SGC works with the NSA to track Trust signals, staging a raid on a Trust warehouse (abandoned) and then continuing to work together to capture Dr. Bricksdale of Area 51 when he meets with Hoskins, his Trust contact. Sam, Daniel, and Teal'c manage to get the stargate back to the SGC, but at the cost of allowing Trust operatives armed with symbiote poison (sufficient to wipe out half a dozen Goa'uld worlds) to escape in a al kesh. • The SGC doesn't run fully staffed 24/7, although it's constantly operational. The graveyard shift appears to be minimally staffed (two sergeants on duty in the control room, no officers or other technicians). (Endgame)

The new version of the poison was bright blue. (The original had consisted of two different gases, one red and one yellow, that needed to be combined to become virulently toxic. (Endgame)
• Because of its virulence against all Goa'uld symbiotes, including those carried by Jaffa (which in turn would kill the Jaffa), the SGC promised never to use them except as a last-resort defense. (Endgame)

• Working offworld on R& D for the SGC, after first trying to go public about aliens on Earth (without knowing about the program itself) and then being framed by the Trust for securities fraud and facing a jail sentence. • He was a good choice for command -- he wasn't panicking about not being able to contact Earth, but was aware that the lack of response could mean that Earth had been compromised. He stayed very calm, very in control. (Endgame)
• He was the voice of reason when Teal'c and M'zel were headed for (understandable) unreasoning fury when they heard that millions of Jaffa had died as a result of a Tok'ra-developed weapon (symbiote poison). He convinced them to stop and think about the fact that the Tok'ra had had this chemical weapon for years, and would have no reason to suddenly start using it. He also pointed out that the timing was highly suspicious, coming right on the heels of contact with Earth being cut off. It was enough so that Teal'c decided to go talk to the Tok'ra directly, rather than assuming they'd started attacking Jaffa for no reason. When M'zel volunteered to go along, once Teal'c announced that he was going to visit an undercover Tok'ra in command of one of Baal's garrisons, Pierce tried to talk them both down again, telling them it was suicide -- Zarin might well sacrifice them just to maintain her cover. • He wasn't happy that they were determined to go get captured so they could speak with Zarin, with absolutely no backup, but made no attempt to stop them once he'd said his piece, respecting their decision. (Endgame)

• The Asgard sent Thor to Earth (or he came on his own), after SG-1 saved them from the Replicators again, to install new Asgard-designed shields and weapons on the X-303, as a sign of gratitude. (Disclosure)
• The Asgard, as a present, added a hyperdrive (presumably more efficient and stable than the existing one) and even beam technology. (Endgame)
• The Prometheus was in the hangar for a little while after that as the engineers/mechanical crew made adjustments to the new engines. (Endgame)
• The beam technology wasn't tied to Asgard sensors, however -- they never put any of their sensors on the ship. (Endgame)
• Under Pendergast's command:
• With only sublight engines (because its new Asgard-provided hyperdrive engines were being adjusted), the Prometheus was sent out to look for a Trust cell that had taken control of Osiris's cloaked al kesh, left in orbit when she was captured. (Endgame)
• Pendergast called Jack when the al kesh's cloak dropped as planned, but added that Daniel had neither disabled the hyperdrive as he was supposed to, nor contacted Pendergast. He wanted permission to fire immediately, before the Trust agents realized the Prometheus was there and attempted to escape using the hyperdrive (which they were bound to succeed in, since the Prometheus was restricted to sublight). He wasn't particularly happy that Jack told him to give Daniel more time. (Endgame)
• When the al kesh began firing up its hyperdrive engines, clearly intending to take off, Pendergast contacted Jack again, once again asking permission to fire. He couldn't guarantee that he could disable the ship without destroying it, though, and Jack again told him to hold off. (Endgame)
• Pendergast was highly relieved when one of his people noticed that a locator beacon had started up, and had the transporter beam activated in that spot. He was surprised to hear that Teal'c had been beamed over to the Prometheus along with Sam, Daniel, and the stargate, but was very pleased (as was the rest of the bridge crew) that they were all alive and well, and called Jack to report their condition. He made no mention of the al kesh escaping -- presumably at that point the Prometheus was a rescue ship, not an attack ship, and rescuing a team in danger took absolute priority. (Endgame)

  • nb: Hayes's name was never given, nor was it specifically said that the call was about this particular issue. So it's possible that it was the previous president, calling him for an earlier matter -- but it seems unlikely in the context of the episode's events.
  • Although he had nothing to do with the attacks on Colson, he wasn't sorry he was publicly discredited. He appears to have approved the plan to get Colson offworld to do further R& D for the stargate program -- really the perfect solution to both allowing him to continue doing what he loved rather than going to jail for something he didn't do, and keep him from convincing anyone back on Earth that he really was telling the truth.   • Actually met an Asgard (Thor) in person (to my knowledge, the previous president never did). He invited Jack and Thor  to  a  meeting  at  the  White  House  during  the  Colson  Industries  problem.  (Covenant)

  • When the Hak'tyl location was compromised, the SGC granted them refuge, including their belongings and livestock. The SGC also helped scout a new world for the Hak'tyl, finding one in short order. When Moloc attacked the rebel forces on that world before the encampment could even be set up, the SGC sent tretonin for Teal'c and Ishta, and worked out a plan to wipe out the enemy forces around the gate by " painting" targets and sending missiles through. It worked better than they could have hoped -- Moloc was standing near the stargate when it was attacked, and Aron painted him, specifically, with a laser light, making him the focal point for the missiles' attack. After that, the Hak'tyl needed another world, one no one loyal to any Goa'uld knew about, so the SGC found them another one to live on. (Sacrifices)

• Along with the R& D that happens at Area 51, the Department of Defense also contracted out some R& D related to SGC projects/technology to various companies, without ever telling them what it was from, or for. (Each company would only have been given a portion of a project, never the whole thing, obviously.) (Covenant)
• Colson Industries won several of those contracts, including one for sequencing some DNA -- Asgard DNA. Colson did more than they were supposed to instead of simply sequencing it, they grew an Asgard clone. They had no idea at the outset where the DNA was from. (Covenant)
• When Alec Colson went public with his proof that aliens were indeed visiting Earth -- by showing the walking Asgard clone to the media -- the Pentagon lost patience and told Jack and the SGC to put a stop to it. • Security at Area 51 was significantly tightened after the repeated loss of technology from the base -- the second stargate (Touchstone) and the Foothold mimic devices (Smoke and Mirrors) at a minimum. No one is allowed to bring anything in or out, not even their street clothes (also included cell phones, etc.). All personnel are thoroughly searched and scanned any time they leave. (Endgame)
• The room(s) that stored small items (in drawers electronically locked into the walls) had increased security as well -- a hand scanner was installed in the middle of the room where Osiris's wrist device was stored, and the drawer wouldn't open without handprint authorization. (Endgame)

He didn't report it -- he used the device to transport himself up and back from the ship several times, but always made sure that the device was safely back in storage before he left for the day, so no one found out. (Endgame)
• He continued to report that he was working on the device to keep the project active, so that he could transport Trust operatives back and forth from the ship. After the Trust got Daniel to give them the translated command codes for the ship, they no longer needed Bricksdale's help. He sabotaged the adaptor he'd been using and declared the project a failure. It was shelved, and no one was ever the wiser. (Endgame)

She was also responsible for wiping all information off the hard drives the Trust operatives left behind when they transported up to the ship -- she deleted everything, then ran a magnet around the CPU to destroy whatever was left. His first move was to call Sam (on her private cellphone) and dump on her about it, but he backed off pretty quickly, telling her he was sure she wasn't in on it -- if it was the government trying to kill him to shut him up, she would just have been a pawn.   • After Ishta was captured and brought before Moloc himself, Aron insisted that he and Teal'c had to make a move -- whether or not they could rescue Ishta, they had to take advantage of the opportunity to kill Moloc.   • When Ishta was contacted by rebel Jaffa in Moloc's armies and asked to a meeting, Teal'c asked to come along, in case there was counsel he could offer. Ishta told him that he had to follow her leadership in this -- Teal'c agreed. When the meeting seemed to be heading toward " rise up against Moloc now, the time is right" , Teal'c stepped in to tell the Jaffa that they should wait until rebel Jaffa everywhere could rise up against their Goa'uld masters. Ishta was very, very pissed off. (Sacrifices)
  • She traveled to the SGC with an urgent request for help when the Hak'tyl thought their location might have been compromised. She wanted to evacuate everyone, but didn't know of a planet where they could go, and couldn't risk trying to hide all the female warriors and children on a populated planet. She was grateful that the SGC would start exploring possible planets for them, but pointed out that if Moloc really knew where the Hak'tyl were hiding out, every moment they stayed put them in more danger. She didn't outright ask to be allowed to stay at the SGC, though, just waited to see if it would be mentioned by Jack (which it was, once he noticed everyone turning to look at him). (Sacrifices)
  • personal note: Ishta's lack of asking to be allowed to stay could be seen as passive-aggressive, but the vibe I got from it was that she didn't want to put the SGC in the awkward position of saying no, especially when they'd already freely agreed to help the Hak'tyl find a new planet. She was upfront about the situation the Hak'tyl were in, then backed off to let Jack make the decision.
  • According to Teal'c, Ishta believed in preserving tradition at all costs, especially in the face of oppression. She was completely in favor of the wedding between Kar'yn and Rya'c, believing it would make both of them stronger (" a warrior is always stronger with another at his side" ). She took Teal'c's refusal to bless the union personally, saying that the only reason Teal'c could be objecting was if he thought Kar'yn was unacceptable as a warrior partner for Rya'c, and thus that Ishta had been at fault in Kar'yn's training.   • Despite the Hak'tyl's refugee status, Ishta wanted Kar'yn's wedding to proceed on schedule, determined not to let Moloc's actions disrupt their lives any more than possible. That meant having the wedding at the SGC. (Sacrifices)
  • After the SGC found a suitable world for the new home encampment (very quickly, within a day or two of starting to search), Ishta set up an emergency meeting there with representatives of the rebel Jaffa still serving in Moloc's armies, including Aron.   • She wanted a traditional wedding, right up until the part in the rehearsal where she was told to kneel before Rya'c in respect. She refused, saying she would kneel to no man. When Bra'tac explained that this had been part of the ceremony for thousands of years, she insisted that Rya'c should kneel before her as well. When Rya'c took offense at the notion, she was upset enough to start losing her temper, saying that she had chosen poorly for a husband. That seemed to get him thinking, and he made up with Kar'yn (helped by the fact that she'd had a similar talk with Ishta), and the wedding went on as scheduled after Teal'c and Ishta returned from the newly scouted Hak'tyl homeworld. The kneeling appears to have been left out completely. So, as of mid-2004, Rya'c is a married man. (Sacrifices)

  • When Teal'c said they needed to have a talk, Rya'c was quick to point out he knew about the " ways between a man and a woman" .   • He received word shortly thereafter from some of his contacts that three Goa'uld worlds had gone under similar attack, with millions of Jaffa dead. He instantly assumed it was the Tok'ra, and was understandably enraged when he went to tell Teal'c and Colonel Pierce. Teal'c was right there with him until Pierce managed to make them both think for a minute -- the Tok'ra would have no reason to do this out of the blue, and it was suspiciously timed, coming immediately on the hells of the sudden lack of contact with Earth (Endgame)
  • When Teal'c decided that the only course of action was to go talk to the Tok'ra directly, M'zel invited himself along. They went to a Goa'uld garrison with an undercover Tok'ra (Zarin) in command, intending to be captured and brought before her so they could ask her what was going on. (Endgame)
  • M'zel held it together during the capture and when Zarin first started talking about how they'd put her in a bad position of having to choose between maintaining her cover or saving their lives, but lost it pretty quickly and literally started to throttle her with his bare hands. She should have taken him to someplace with a strong, immediate alien feel -- like Chulak, with its two suns, or Nem's planet, with the gas giant hanging overhead. Granted, the F-302 was a good hook for him, but he could as easily have seen one of those sitting in one of Prometheus's hangars on Earth.
    • Close-captioning nitpick: I can't completely blame the closed-captioner, because I thought the same thing at first, but it has Daniel saying " The F.C.C. is investigating you for securities fraud" , which is ludicrous. The FCC is the Federal Communications Commission, in charge of broadcast regulations for television and radio. Daniel (rightly) says " SEC" -- Securities and Exchange Commission, in charge of matters relating to the stock market.
    • Why did the Trust contact Brian Vogler six months before the events of the episode? Colson can't have had much, if anything, at the time. That was a month before the battle over Antarctica. He may have had the Asgard DNA sequence, but Sam clearly says that it only takes three months to grow a clone body. It's possible that Colson wanted time to try to work with the " alien" , and that it was fully grown as of six months earlier, but that would mean that he also sat on this story for months on end, even with the additional proof from Antarctica. For someone who's so gung-ho to expose the truth at all costs, that doesn't seem very likely. And yet Vogler immediately began cooking the books to set up Colson in case the Trust needed to stop him.
    • Whoever came up with Brian Vogler's name needed to come up with something different -- no one ever managed to say it the same way. It was pronounced (and close-captioned) as both " Vogler"   and " Volger" , sometimes even by the same person.
    • Endgame:
    • Not a nitpick: Yay, the chevrons lit up all at once aboard the al kesh, when Teal'c dialed in! (Endgame)
    • I slightly revoke my Covenant nitpick about not taking Colson to a more obviously alien world. The alpha-site skyscape in Endgame clearly included a ringed planet in what appears to be a double orbit with the alpha site world.   But I still think that the military base looked too much like a relatively run-of-the-mill concrete military base, and most of the surroundings looked too " ordinary" , and that a more obviously alien world would be more impressive.
    • Tiny grammatical nit: M'zel says " ... three more Goa'uld worlds have come under attack..." -- the " more" shouldn't have been there, since to their knowledge, only the rebel base had been hit up to that point. But he was a little stressed out at the time, and could have been thining " three more planets with Jaffa on them" , especially considering the staggering death toll.
    • Why did Sam zat Hoskins but not wait for backup before she beamed up to Osiris's al kesh? She had to know there was a risk of enemies aboard, and with no one there to take control of Hoskins, he could (and did) escape. She should have waited a couple of minutes for Daniel or someone from the NSA to come slap cuffs on Hoskins.
    • M'zel should never have been able to overpower Zarin -- symbiotes make their hosts incredibly strong. She should have been able to fling him off and into a wall without breaking a sweat.
    • Why didn't Teal'c just yank M'zel's symbiote out as soon as he realized what was going on? He knew how fast-acting the poison was, and had to know that symbiotes in Jaffa pouches wouldn't last much longer than a symbiote embedded in a human nervous system -- if only because of the Jaffa on the rebel base had died in a matter of mere minutes since Teal'c had left them. Losing his symbiote would have badly weakened M'zel, but he would have survived more than long enough for Teal'c to get him back to the alpha site, where there must be tretonin stored (or, if all else failed, to inject him with some of Teal'c's own tretonin).
    • Why didn't Daniel carry a locator beacon  of his own when he beamed up to Osiris's al kesh? And, preferably, one for Sam? The Prometheus could have locked on to that signal and beamed him/them out a split second before attacking the al kesh, rather than having to wait in hopes that he'd contact them in time, or risk definitely killing him by attacking without any word.
    • Purely personal note, not a nitpick: I know some people believe that Jack must be tortured  in  retrospect by his decision to save the team, but I don't. I think he regrets the deaths that will follow, but that he also believes that most of the Jaffa in Baal's armies, and all of the Goa'uld who serve him, are Earth's enemies, and that while he himself would not use the symbiote poison in such a manner, he's not going to cry over enemy deaths, either. The information he had at the time he made the decision told him that he could risk a few Trust agents escaping but save two of his own people's lives, or he could kill two of his own people in hopes of killing a few Trust agents at the same time. He's not going to start second-guessing his decisions, especially when they turn out to be correct given the information he had at the time. I didn't see any regret in his expression at all when he said " tough choice" -- to my eyes, he was saying he'd do it again. I think, though, that it'll be interesting seeing how Teal'c reacts to that in the long run, with so much of his focus now about the Jaffa rebellion, and his hope that he can convince more and more Jaffa to fight for freedom.
