An alternate ending, involving the possibility of repercussions.
Why you should read this
This picks up after the Apocalypse-that-wasn't, with Aziraphale and Crowley headed back home, each a little on edge and wondering what his Side is going to think of what he did. I really like the feel of this, how neither of them are sure what's going to happen next in this new world, or how they fit together anymore. And the resolutions of all their various worries are just perfect.

Why you should read this
Okay, so, this is technically a gen story, and totally readable as such. But my goodness, the love and connection between Aziraphale and Crowley in this, as Crowley has to deal with the fact that Aziraphale has been recalled to Heaven -- and that he misses him terribly. It's wonderfully charming and warm and lovely.

Why you should read this
The voices and tone in this are perfect. The Four Riders are getting restless after the Apocalypse didn't happen, but the Them have other things to do. Mostly from Pepper's POV -- I can't call it charming, exactly, because Pepper isn't exactly a charming child, but it's a fun read.

When Aziraphale repeatedly invites him to dinner, Crowley knows the angel must be up to something.
Why you should read this
This is sweet (but not saccarhine at all), and funny, and has perfect voices. It feels more like slash (or at least pre-slash) than gen to me, but it can definitely be read as purely gen.

So, one day when torch had a cold, she said, "comment with any two characters I write, and I'll tell you about their first kiss." Fans being what they are, some of the selections were a bit... unusual. Like, say, Crowley/Lancelot.
But, torch being torch, she wrote a breathtaking little piece that made me believe. This is just beautiful.

The End comes round once again; naturally, this is not accepted gracefully. A little comedy, a little angst, set in heaven, hell, and all points between.
Why you should read this
The Apocalypse was only delayed, not stopped, and Aziraphale and Crowley deal with things in their own inimitable ways. This is wonderfully in character, charming and snarky and sweet and irreverent, and left me grinning madly. Yay!

Somewhere else, the happy ending was different. AU.
Why you should read this
'Different' is an accurate description. afrai turns the book on its head, taking the same general premise but with one small thing changed in the setup, which changes almost everything. I'm fascinated by this story. I usually like my Good Omens fic to be mostly cheerful and fun, which this most emphatically is not -- and yet, it holds true to the tone of the book, with a light, wry narrative, clever observations, spot-on dialogue, you name it. But where the book used that narrative tone to build one of the funniest books I've ever read, afrai uses it to build a heartbreaking, scary AU, one I can believe even though I don't want to. I couldn't stop reading this.
The link goes to the story on afrai's site. If you prefer archives, go here to read it on fanfiction.net. (note: ff.net changes its directory structure every now and again, so that link eventually may not work.)

An eye for an eye, a book for a book, and a deal with the devil's in the details.
Why you should read this
Great voices, great characterization, great snark, a blushing angel, and footnotes. There is nothing here that I don't love. This is wonderful.

Crowley isn't sure it's the thought that counts.
Why you should read this
Crowley and Aziraphale go shopping at Christmas. Utterly charming, and it sounds like it could have been written by Gaiman and Pratchett.
Also, there are footnotes. Very important, the footnotes.

Why you should read this
This is long and fabulous and absolutely wonderful. It reads like the book (as do pretty much all of the GO stories on the Yuletide archive, but this maintains it for a lovely long time). Crowley and Aziraphlae come home to England, 11 years after Armageddon didn't happen, in an epilogue that Gaiman and Pratchett just forgot to include. We're just lucky Giddy Geek remembered.
