Why you should watch this
Oh, wow. This vid suffered a bit at Club Vivid for me, because, um. I was apparently already feeling the effects of the open bar, even though this aired relatively early in the show. Once I got it home and watched it completely sober, this blew me away. Buffyann has a gift for motion that is just staggering. Every clip here flows seamlessly into the next clip, through both internal and external motion, so that in the end, all these people are dancing the same (incredibly varied) dance -- and half the time, they're finishing each other's moves. As far as I can tell, I'm not familiar with any of the sources she used, which makes it all blend even more seamlessly for me. This is just gorgeous.

Why you should watch this
This is gripping, and disturbing, and sexy, and disturbing, and just all around incredibly good. It's all about how love and protectiveness can be warped, and the consequences of that. *flail* I can't do it justice in a rec. Just go watch it. Six or seven times.

Why you should watch this
I had no familiarity with anime music videos when I watched this for the first time, and this convinced me that I was missing out *huge* on some great stuff. It's fabulous, and funny, and wonderful, and with editing and synching that's so good I'm still not completely convinced that the characters aren't saying the narrative bits. You must* watch this. No, really.

A pick 'n' mix of superheroes. A smorgasbord of leather and lycra.
Why you should watch this
Once again, Charmax blows me away with her gift for motion and emotion. She works with a lot of different movie-source superheroes here -- Daredevil, the Incredibles, the Fantastic Four, Spider Man, Batman, Superman, the X-Men (with attendant villains, of course) -- and weaves them together into a vid about an archetypal Superhero, one that keeps on fighting to save the day no matter how bad things get. And, okay, that sounds sort of pompous, with the archetypes and the capital-s superhero, but really, this is amazing, and uplifting, heartbreaking, and moving, and I want to say "fun" because it is fun, but it's it's also all about how the life of a superhero sorta... sucks. And these people do it anyway, and wow. They really are amazing.

OMG HEE. This is exactly how I watch genre tv! Every actor you've ever sorta kinda recognized, and gone, "wait, I know him -- OH! [character!]" heeheehee.
Okay, seriously, I can't do justice to this. Just go watch it, and bask. Heeee.

Why you should watch this
*points to summary* Totally accurate, that. *g* I was going "aww" all the way through this, and by the end was smiling so hard my cheeks hurt. It's just that sweet and happy. Andraste mixed live-action, anime, and cartoon fandoms here, which is something you don't often see, but which works here, because hey, it's all about the romance and the sweetness. This is a fabulous little pick-me-up vid.

Why you should watch this
So, most kitchen-sink vids don't really connect the sources -- maybe they show parallels, or similarities, or themes, but everything within each source is separate from the other sources.
This? Is a crossover.
*points up to that giant list of fandoms* It's a crossover, with lots of these characters dancing in the same club, or drowning in the same lake, or in the same infirmary, or being rained on by the same blood (I love fandom).
The pace is fast, keeping up with the beat either through quick cuts or internal motion, so there are clips I still haven't completely seen (because I don't know the source enough to fill it in on my own). That doesn't matter, though, because for me this is all about the motion and the beat. Seriously cool work here.

Why you should watch this
*glee*
I first saw this when it premiered during Club Vivid at Vividcon 2005, when it won over the entire room, in spades. The title sums up the entire vid -- this really is a fannish taxonomy of hotness, organized by theme, with each them leading seamlessly into the next (which is just so brilliantly done I can't even tell you). It has girls, and boys, and girls and boys, and girls and girls, and boys and boys. Some of the "hot" themes are what you'd expect -- shirtlessnes, nakedness, kissing, dancing -- and some will make you go "hee! yes!" because man, do we find more hot than just nakedness.
It's just wonderful -- fun and happy and sexy and managing to be a big meta statement about all of us at the same time. *loves*
